Green, watery poo, falling asleep, not eating, but definitely drinking! Thoughts?

Did you take her to the vet? If you did, they will have her weight.

Okay, so her minimum daily fluid requirement is 70 ml, and that is the minimum. If she were mine I would shoot for twice that. Can you call the vet and ask the how many mg of tetracycline she should get per day? That woul be extremely helpful.

So I've definitely been getting at least 140ml in her each day. It sounds as if I needed to update the dosage to 1/8th tsp of duramycin based on that intake.

I have her outside with the flock. Would you all recommend that she stay separated until she's off the antibiotic? We're on day 3 out of 7. She's active and pecking at stuff. She ate some banana earlier (not much). This has been her norm for the past two days. Really no great improvements.

I read some place that the amount of tetracyline they need is ~20 mg per pound per day, which is why I was hoping you could call the vet you spoke with.

I think the 800 mg per gallon dose (1/4 to 1/3 tsp per cup) is *very* conservative.

Okay. He wasn't very knowledgeable about chickens but he was willing to see her and help. He basically told me to keep doing what I've been doing for a couple more days but to remember that they're farm animals. He's a large animal vet and sees household pets as well. I can call to see if he has any info on the dosing.

@casportpony i have a call in to my vet friend to help us calculate the dosage. I'll keep you posted.

Do you have a recommendation on keeping her separated? Or keep her with the flock. It seems that she does better with the flock. I've seen her be more active and eating a little more than she has been. BUT I don't want to make her sicker or infect the flock (none of the other girls are showing symptoms. One girl has watery poo but keeping an eye on it. It looks pretty normal so far)

Thanks!

Can you post a video of her?
