Greens ate what age?

good post. I was wondering the same thing. As far as treats go...I gave my six 10 day old chick a very small piece of brocolli and they had a blast with it. Is that bad for them?

As long as it was washed well, I don't think it's bad for them. I've done the same thing with mine.
Mine also got some wild strawberry leaves to play with as well. They aren't really eating the greens as much yet. They're just scratching in them and shaking them around.

yep it was cleaned and steamed. (I had it for dinner). This morning I gave them another tiny piece and one of them ate the whole stem, 1/2 in long, in one swallow! Yikes!

we have 3 ee's and 5 black australorps. the 3 ee's fly up to the top of the 2 foot piece of plywood i have as a divider when they see the white bowl we use for the chopped up hard boiled egg quarter. it's been in the 40's and 50's at night here so i put one of those electric oil heaters that has a thermostat on the outside of the divider and have the heat lamp inside the brood area. the heater keeps the coop at the right temp through the night so we don't have to worry about them. they are 3 weeks and 2 days old now. should have seen them RUN from a cricket i threw in! lol needless to say, i took it out. all 3 ee's can fly pretty good already and all are growing so fast! they are a hoot.
