Hi everyone,

I'm from Rochester Hills Michigan and I'm a senior in high school. I always wanted chickens when I was a little kid, and once unsuccessfully tried to hatch eggs. Now I decided to revisit this dream, since I have so much free time now. I mentioned this to my parents and little brother who got excited, and said it was ok. I ordered a plymouth rock, a buff orpington, and a red cochin last night from ideal. While its technically illegal to own chickens my property, because it is less than an acre, I decided I'll do it anyways and join the chicken underground! Thats pretty much my story.

from South Carolina, nice to have you aboard!

Good luck flying under the radar- just don't get a rooster! And give eggs to all the neighbors!

Welcome from a fellow Michigander! I'm in Swartz Creek, which is near Flint. I actually lived in Rochster Hills when I first moved to Michigan, about 14 yrs. ago. Lovely city!

Good luck with your underground chicken endeavor!

Welcome hun!
We're on the other side of the State on Lake Michigan shore (near the Dunes) But Hubby is from Saginaw... I'm originally from Lansing...
if you only keep a few good egg-layers, and no Roosters, you should be ok... especially if you are on good terms with your neighbors!
