Hi Everyone!
My name is Julia, but you can call me Jules. I am a married mother of one awesome 9 yr old boy as well as a human servant to a dog and 2 cats.
I don't have any chickens yet, as I was erroneously led to believe that they are not allowed in my downtown, historic neighborhood. However, on a whim today I looked up the city's municipal codes and found that they are allowed as long they do not cause a stink, figuratively and literally. WOO HOO! I'm so excited.
My husband and I both have wanted them for a while; we are easing our way into the "urban homesteading" movement, slowly but surely. We already grow lots of herbs and veggies, but to have our own eggs would be a boon. So I am hoping to be a chicken owner very soon... Or as I say with my dog, I hope to be some chickens' human very soon.
I look forward to learning more about raising chicks and to getting to know some of my fellow enthusiasts.
Sincerely,
Jules
