I wonder if a low electrified fence wire or two around your coop, run, would send snakes in a different direction, It's only fair, seeing them sends me in a different direction. Anything that makes me scream like a banshee cannot be good for anyones health.

Welcome to Byc!Glad to have you here and answer any questions you may have!sounds like y'all have a nice set up.I've had a snake in my coop before was lucky it didn't get any of my easter egger chickens.I've read somewhere that mothballs are suppose to prevent them maybe putting them in a mason jar and poking holes in the top(just a idea)not sure if moth balls even work but that would prevent the chickens eating the mothballs. I'm sure there are plants out there that could keep the snakes away.with chickens comes mice I've seen a few here running around!!Good luck to ya:D
