Hello i am new to BYC and am excited to be a part of it:) i am fairly new to the chicken raising world (this is my 2nd year) and am glad to know i can get the best answers to questions i may have from real chicken handlers! Looking forward to chatting with yall! God Bless -Doug

This is my first time incubating eggs, and theyre eggs from my chickens at that, so I'm looking forward to the results. I do however have a question. I'm using an automatic egg turner. I know after a chick hatches i have to wait until they have fluffed and dried to be moved to the brooder. my question is, will the chicks be okay lying on top of the automatic egg turner while I await for them to dry? Any suggestions?

I'm glad you joined us.

When I hatch my eggs, I usually remove them from my turner. However, some people do hatch eggs in the turner, and I think that the chicks do fine just sitting on it until they are removed to the brooder.
