Oh dear, please don't tell my wife that chickens were the only reason I came to Hungary. She's under the impression I was fulfilling a promise that I made before we were married - that I would one day bring her home.
Thank you everyone for this wonderful welcome. We moved here less than three months ago, so I haven't had time to get homesick yet. I do miss my family, though. Thank goodness for Skype!
As for my ladies, I'm embarrassed to say that I have no idea what type they are (or even if they are all ladies!). We built the coop, then I had a visit from the lady next door with a housewarming present - 10 chicks and a bucket of feed. Sadly we lost one who thought the grass was greener over the fence, but who didn't take into account the dog that lived there. Fences have been checked and re-checked to make sure THAT doesn't happen again! It is a very steep learning curve!!
