It's been a while since I was on this site.
Been too long since I posted something.

I also have a couple of RIR chickens, and I'm expecting more in a few weeks. Yay!



Okay, I have a curious question.

Is true that when a brown egg differs in hue from other brown eggs, it means it came from a different hen?

Silly question, I know.

And to answer your question, not necessarily. It's normal for egg color to vary a bit. It is at the beginning of their cycle that the eggs will be the darkest or most concentrated color, and as time goes on it will lighten.
