I've spent a lot of time on this site as a non-member reading articles and forum posts to get me started correctly. It has been a very valuable resource.

To answer the suggested newbie questions:

I've had chickens for ~9 months now and am really enjoying the experience.

My city allows 6 chickens - I have silver laced polish, silver laced wyandottes, dark brahmas, & blue easter eggers. My neighbors are very happy with the variety of egg colors they get :D

I also have 2 australian shepherds that have shown in a variety of sports. The older one is quite good with the chickens while the younger one veers between loving to eat their poop :barnie and wanting to chase them :he.

The dogs and chickens share the yard with a number of zebra finches in an aviary (I breed and sometimes show them) and a ton of large goldfish that live in my pond.

Since I live in a downtown area on a small city lot, it's quite a zoo, but very fun.
