Hello all from Ozark, Alabama. Found this site by using the interwebs search and have been perusing it for a couple months now and finally decided to join the forums. I'm married with two teenaged daughters. I retired from the Air Force a couple years ago. We got our first chickens around August last year. We started out with a Brown Leghorn, Australorp, a "I don't know", and a Rhode Island Red (died after a week.) The three survivors are all laying now and get along with each other great. We got six more chickens back at the end of February. Two Golden Laced Wyandottes, two White leghorns and two Long Island reds. Supposed to be all hens. (We don't need any roosters). I told the wife if any are roosters they're going away. Probably via a cooking pot. The wife and kids are good with that.

Welcome to chicken math!!!! I started with 3 and now have 12, plus 2 Pekin ducks. Plus I got a dog to keep the foxes and hawks away. And I kicked a horse out so the girls could have their stall. It never ends... P
