Hello. I'm still in the research phase. Probably would have started raising chickens last year but couldn't really figure an efficient method to keeping them alive during these extremely cold Alaskan winters. But I met a local chicken raiser the other day and got some awesome tips, including checking out BYC. So, now I'm super excited to get things started this spring/summer. And I may even get to the point of contributing to other forums here. Also contemplating a new blog to document my chicken adventures. I'll post that later when I get it underway.

There are lots of folks who keep chickens in Alaska and the chickens do just fine. Best of luck getting a nice cozy coop and some cold hardy chickens to go with it. How exciting. Good luck
