Hello everyone, I'm Tatters and living in a little town called Hamburg, WI. I'm here to learn really as I hope to have chickens in a few years, though not sure what chickens to have here in the frozen north. I have the land, but with my current soap making business I'm focusing more on that than birds. However, I figured I'd learn all I can before I transition into a small hobby farm. My home is set in 37 acres of woods and 3 acres of field so its not very ideal for birds, but I'll make it work some how as I wish to have milking goats too and a horse.

I don't have much of a family. Elderly parents who I care for when they call on me and then its just myself.

Thank you for the welcomes. Yes, the property is nice. Have a good hunting area too with deer and turkeys and occasional grouse/pheasants. I'll definitely have to get some photos up in the future. My chicken interest revolves around being more self sufficient and having the place pay for itself in the long run, thus poultry for eggs and meat.
