Greetings From Farming Feathers :-)

Thank you as well for your time in the service....glad to see the fellowship these days.
It may take me a little time to warm up to this following a forum as I don't spend that much time on conversation unless I have asked a question and seeking an answer...otherwise I'm distant and hope that won't be taken wrong some of us are just not sociable till we warm up...then everyone one is say can't you shut up :-)

I try not to think back to my days of service and hope your son is seasoned to deal with modern day battlefield since the trend these days lean toward that, but hope it won't be that way...Seem you have a nice flock of animals and I'm trying to find how to catch and release rats...I don't like to kill or make kill traps...seen evidence that I have perhaps 4 rodents and that means at least 8 are likely here. I like a fall trap with shallow water to keep them from jumping out of trap bucket but don't know where to release them????

He was with the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment in the first wave of Iraqi Freedom, now he and his family live and work the farm with us.

Maybe open a thread here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/predators-and-pests.13/ There a folks out here who go for the no-kill option. I would think release would need to be miles away--but according to google they only travel a few hundred feet from their nest.

I saw mention that live release may not be a good idea??? didn't understand why seems better than killing the animal, and knew they should be released a distance away. I like comradery with fellow members of our service, and huuurah to a fellow Marine, but not all of us find a life to be remembered...and why I seek other trains of thought...that is just me and no-one else.
