I am a new chicken owner and my fiancé and I have 4 beautiful babies that are about 7 weeks old. I have had chicken experience in the past with a room mate who had them but this my first time owning them. We currently have 3 ISA browns and 1 Cornish Cross. I am excited to watch them continue to grow and see how their instinctual behaviors come out. We were finally able to get chickens now that we have purchased a home in Gainesville, where I will be attending vet school. I look forward to learning everything about chicken health as well as other pet/livestock health so I can keep my 4 chickens and my 4 cats as healthy and happy as possible. In the meantime, and for as long as I have chickens, I appreciate everyone on here who has so much experience and knowledge about backyard chickens. There is so much to learn and I am thankful that a platform like this exists to give guidance to those of us just now learning! That is how I found BYC. Every time I Google something to do with my chickens, a post from this forum shows up first and I knew I had to join in the group
