Hello. I am new here but I have been reading for a while.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I just got chickens for the first time in March of this year.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I have 14 chickens.

(3) What breeds do you have?

I have 10 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Rhode Island Reds, 1 Partridge Plymouth Rock, and 1 Silkie

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

Google.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I enjoy painting and crafting. Most of my time is spent homeschooling my boys.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

In addition to the chickens we have a few cats/kittens, and 3 dogs (who killed some of the chickens when we first got them but they have learned better now). My husband and I have 4 sons, our youngest went to Heaven last year after a battle with cancer. Our other three sons are 13, 11, and almost 9. We live on 13 acres that belong to my mother-in-law. We are about half a mile off the road so its very secluded. I love it! I am a homemaker and homeschool my sons.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

! Make sure you check out the Yo Georgians thread. There are a lot of people from all over the state. It is a very active thread. I bet you are looking forward to getting some eggs soon! I got my girls in Jan & Feb, and they have been laying for about a month.
