I have 2/3 acre section, mostly woodland on which i free range 5 brown shavers.

I have to say we have chicks now because my DH competed in IM New Zealand last year in Taupo. We went to one of the tourist places just north of there and the place was covered with chickens. We fell in love. It took us a whole year, and we now have baby chicks!

We lived on the Southern Island 10 years ago as well! Not a native though! Lovely country.
