Hi! Been reading this forum for quite a while as we ventured into chickens over the past year, but just joined as a member. We started out with 5 last year and needless to say our flock has expanded into 18 and hopefully more soon! We are now getting serious about breeding and selling one breed (basque, or euskal oiloa) but I have more to learn so I thought I'd better join BYC so I could learn from you fine folks :) what we currently have: 1 RIR, 2 barred rock, 1 brahma, 1 black australorp, 3 ameraucanas (or maybe EE, still to be decided, may need to post their pics in the "what's my breed" forum!), 3 euskal oiloa (breeding trio) and 5 2-week old basque chicks (still unsexed, although I have my suspicions). Happy to be here!

Welcome to BYC! And greetings from Idaho as well!

Thanks all! Since joining the forum I have learned I have 3 EE (not ameraucanas) and a black sex-link' (not australorp) (she is one of our best layers!) BUT we just got 6 more young australorp yesterday. We now have 24 chickens. Spring is going to bring an over abundance of eggs which we will welcome and share with neighbors and friends.
