My name is Karen I live in north central Kansas. I've always had a few Easter egged, but last year I got interested in pheasants. Went to an exotic animal sale, came home with pheasants of course. But I also came home with a trio of Ayam Cemani chickens. They are 1 year old and their fist chicks are hatching today in the incubator, I'm so excited! A few years ago I bought some Porcelain D'uccle,a predator got in their pen and killed them all I was so upset. I have been wanting so again and I found a lady that sold me some hatching eggs, they are due to hatch May 4. I'm looking into the Ameracaunas ,trying to read all I can on them. I look forward to meeting alot of new friends,in this hobby of chickens. I'm a single woman with an adult daughter, son in law and a year old grand daughter. Maybe when she's older she will want to take chickens to 4-H. I'm an assistant manager at the local Dairy Queen.

Welcome Karen, so nice that you joined us at Backyard Chickens. When you mention pheasants - one breeder comes to mind 007Sean- he has exotic ones , knows all about them and also quail, etc. He is in Texas.
