Sounds like a great set-up! I'm outside Topeka. The Kansas BYCrs get together now and then. I haven't been able to make it, but hope to. I also got my first birds in March and am ready for the trials and trepidations of winter. This site is GREAT!

Hi CK,

Glad to hear you know where Baldwin City is. Our little plot of ground is in the Vinland area, around 6 miles just north of Baldwin City. Haven't been to the Maple Leaf Festival in awhile but we've had our collies pulling a float in the Baldwin City Christmas Light Parade. And actually won an award both years!! Had to forego that this year due to some other commitments on the weekend they held it.

Maybe I need to think of a way to include the chickens the next time!!

Were just south of you in Ottawa, we also got our first birds in march. Baldwin is a really great small town I'm a volunteer from the L.O.H. Fire department just outside Ottawa and we do allot of work for the Maple Leaf Festival there in Baldwin every year.
Were also new to BYC but welcome to the fun!

Welcome from Lacygne! I've never been to Baldwin, but one of our surgeons lives there and loves it. Do you have pics of your barn/coop? We LOVE pics here on BYC
