Hi! I did confirm with the town that hens are allowed, provided you don't have any HOA issues. There are a few details to consider regarding proximity to your neighbor's property, if that applies to you, but otherwise you're good to go!
By the way, if you're going to move soon on setting up your flock, I have a few extra one-week old red-sex link and leghorn chicks. Wanted two or three but had to buy 6.

Thanks for the offer. We just bought our chicks this past weekend at Southern States in Purcellville. We were hoping to start small with 4, but like you, had to buy 6. Oh well. We're considered "in town" and our house was built LONG before HOA's so we don't have them to deal with. I think I read the proximity bit somewhere...something like 60 ft...right?

Maybe next time it's needed we can split a purchase of chicks.
