Hi everyone. Nice to meet you all. I'm from NY but lived here in Northern Louisiana for the last 11 yrs. Country style setting in a small town south of Shreveport. I started out with 6 Rhode Island Reds about 2 yrs ago. I now have 3 left. Predators got 2 of my babies ( I think it was a neighbors dog) and 1 was found dead in the coop. The rest don't free range now unless I stay out there and watch them like they are toddlers. That's all for now.

I'm sorry to hear about your losses. Dogs can be a problem when it comes to chickens… especially when it's not your dogs!

So sorry about your lost babys!

Chickens are like toddlers. They have really no defense against roving dogs and other predators. Most neighbors have no sense of responsibility. Sorry for your losses.

Welcome!
