Hi All
I was thrust into chicken ownership when my husband okayed one of our 4 children bringing home 2 of the chicks that they hatched at school. Good thing they start out cute and fuzzy! We've kind of gone about this backwards.
We weren't sure we'd get "picked" to take home chicks so we didn't prepare anything right away. Got the note just before April vacation saying they were ready to come home that Friday. Quickly did research, bought supplies, etc. The original 2 lived in the mud room a few weeks past when they could be outside until we could build a liveable coop. Now the older 2 are outside while the 2 newbies we bought to round out the flock are in the mud room.
At this point, we'd like to know what kinds/genders we have. I'll post that separately
Any advice you all have to offer about introducing the older and the younger birds to each other or how to prepare for a Northeast winter would be greatly appreciate.
Thanks
