Greetings from Makati, Philippines!

Hello everyone! I’m a 34d year Biology student that just started keeping silkie chicks a month ago. Suddenly now i’m addicted to hatching eggs, currently I have 1 native chick that has hatched, and 2 eggs on the way (which may or may not came from my college project). I really want to give them the best life that’s why I’m here. :)
Welcome to BYC!!

Welcome. Any pictures of the native chick?

Here you go, she’s very sweet unlike some of her counterparts in the province. Probably because she was hand reared(?). Last two pictures are what the adult chickens looked like where I got her from.

Welcome! Are you hatching in a homemade incubator?
Nope! I’m using a cheap forced air incubator I bought online, it was initially used for my cockatiel eggs, then I tested it out on some chicken eggs thankfully enough it did a great job. It’s pretty low maintenance since it has a turner and everything, the only thing you have to do is put water in it.
