I have come to this site many times in the past but never bothered to make an account. I seen a post I really wanted to reply to today so I broke down and finally made one. We have been raising a variety of chickens for 3 years now. We finnally decided to stick with our polish since they are so crazy and entertaining. We have a little 10 acre farm on which we raise fainting goats and our feathered friends. The hubby and I are debating on wheather or not we want to add turkeys to one of our unused pens or not. I say go for it but my husband says they get mean and will chase people. We have 2 little girls aged 6 and 8 and I don't want to get an agressive bird. Have any of you had experience with turkeys that were non aggressive. My husband was chased and harrassed by a gobbler on his grandfathers farm as a child and has been turned off turkeys ever since. Glad I finally made an account and hope to become and active member of BYC. Godbless.

GM PG,
We have had good luck with turkeys. They are a lot like most animals - treat them right and they will treat you right.
We have Royal Palms, the spouse loves their look. They complete our poultry interests.
If you can get hubby to come around, I have a pair of RP started birds I need to find a home for

so holla back if you are interested.
Turkey behavior is unlike any other poultry we have had - I think they will fit in great anywhere you already have chickens.
Good Luck!

Apparently turkeys can be amazing pets and be very friendly. Who knew?
