Local farm posted the need to adopt out slow laying hens and roosters. I have toyed with the idea of having a backyard chicken coop and agreed to take 4 hens. Assembling coop and gathering items now. Rural environment here with all sorts of predators. Summer heat is here to stay in NC. Learning from many sources and looking forward to tips and timesavers from experienced chicken keepers!
