New guy from nc. Don't have chickens yet but looking to get started. Been doing my homework and just about ready. Just trying to figure out the right coop to start with.

Hello, and welcome to Backyard chickens! I am so glad that you joined us, and I hope you will make yourself at home here and enjoy it as much as I have! :frow

Hi and welcome to BYC. Whatever coop style you decide on - make it twice the size you originally planned. Chicken maths gets us all in the end.

Best wishes

...and that's the truth. A lot easier to build bigger than you think you'll need than to add on or build a second coop. Have you checked out the coops section?

Welcome!

As you have already received links to some good starting points, I will just wish you all the best and also your flock when they arrive.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
