Hello all,
My name is Tammy. I figured since my kitchen is decorated with chickens it was about time to get the real thing. Being new to raising chickens I searched the net for anything that would help me rear the little darlings. I found this site and have been stalking
it since end of June . The information here has been invaluable. Figured it was about time to introduce myself. It's nice to know that there is a place where other chicken crazy people share their knowledge, stories, pics, etc.
Our first purchase was 7 straight run chicks... 3 Black Australorps and 4 Americaunas. I have been told the Americaunas look like Welsummers though. So far we have 1 BA cockerel and an Americauna cockerel from this run. Hopefully no more crowers... lol. They are 15 weeks now.
Our second purchase was all pullets... 2 White Cochins, 2 Silver Laced Cochins, 2 Golden Laced Wyandottes, 2 Speckled Sussex and 2 Golden Comets. These babies are around 10 weeks.
In addition to our 17 chickens, DH and I have 4 horses, 1 pony (for the grands), 3 cats and 1 dog. We joke around and call our humble abode "Green Acres"
.
Will be posting some pics later. Would like to know if you guys think my Americauna cockerel Augusta is indeed an Americauna.
Nice to meet you all. Drop me a line anytime!
Tammy
