Hi everyone!

I am a new soon-to-be backyard chicken owner. I have 5 eggs on day 19 and am counting the days down.

I've never owned chickens but have raised mallards in the past so I am really looking forward to the experience. I am hoping with a lot of socialization I can raise chickens with personality.

I have a feeling I will be on this site looking for LOTS of info as they hatch and grow!

So far it sounds like all of the peeps have pipped internally (by all of the peeping coming from the incubator)! One of the peeps pipped the shell a few hours ago so now chick watch begins! It makes it a bit hard to sleep...guess that's what happens to us ametures
