Thought I'd come out of lurking status and join the crowd. Most people just call me Slick and leave the numbers off just because I like a more informal atmosphere.
I'm 57 and retired from law enforcement after putting in almost 30 years. I got a little crazy after my retirement and bought a restaurant and I've been in the food service biz since I retired. I've decided that my last gig is this Saturday, which will throw me into full retirement.
My wife and I have just started raising chickens for the eggs and it looks like I'm going to enjoy messing with them and will enlarge the project. Now, we have eight barred rocks and eight Ameraucanas. We'll be looking to fill our first coop with four more of another breed.
I've noticed that everyone seems to enjoy posting PICS their coops and most everyone enjoys looking at them, so I'll do the same. I took my time and tried to implement everything of convenience into my coop. It's 8' x 10' with a 10' x 30' yard. We're using shaving on the floor, but have been thinking about sand
Then there's my main project raising Piedmontese cattle. This is Bryson our pride and joy herd bull.
The girls.
