My second biggest anxiety is chicken math. And my third biggest anxiety is keeping them happy in the winter since our winters are very long and very snowy.
Just say NO! Chicken Cabin Fever is real....and it's UGLY.
Forget the tractor, build a big walk-in coop and you'll all be happier when the snow starts to pile up.

Stop on by the Michigan Chat thread, it's not too active but there are several in N.MI.

:frowHi!
:welcomeWelcome to our BYC family!
:cafIf you haven't read the article here on Chicken Math you need to make sure that you do! It puts each of our chicken census numbers into perspective & discusses it in terms that even our dear loved ones will understand. Make sure you name all of your new birds...

Somehow you already know me. I already want more chickens and other animals (merino sheep for sure and a highland cow? Yes please). My husband wants a trout pond, so I smell ducks in my future.

Just to feed your budding obsession... ;) edited to add: I believe they’re pregnant, can’t wait!

Welcome to the flock/herd! :frow

Ducks are safer for intimate contact with gardens, I hear, but those chicken tunnels are way cool! Also, don’t forget turkeys!

SO BEAUTIFUL! I can’t even imagine seeing a little highland nugget running around, I would die of cuteness overload. If we ever move, I’m making sure the next property has proper pasture and then I can start building my heard...

I’ve heard that turkeys are awesome, so that’s another thing to think about for sure!
