hello-

I am from columbus, ohio. I live in the city. To have chickens here you have to jump thru flaming (and I mean flaming) hoops to get chickens.

Before I begin my story I would like to say we own alapcas (that are boarded), I keep bees, and grow giant pumpkins. The farmer who owns the farm we board on has chickens. We go out there once or twice a week, and I will be growing my pumpkins out there. He has 8 chickens now, started with more, but "granpa squished one" acording to his daughter. Any-hoo he was getting a few dozen and selling any to us that he had. He had told us he was going to build a much bigger coop and get 20 more chickens to sell eggs. (disney world fund for kids). I thought well if you can board alpacas, why not chickens. I had this whole game plan set out on how I was gonna ask him. I started saying how chickens be nice but hard to get in the city. Before I even get there he starts saying if I get some white egg layeys, and how I would have to buy 6 by state law. I am like cool. Just have to buy a bag of feed every once in a while and I already take care of his chickens when we are there.(hes is busy man).

Well that my story.

from a fellow Buckeye. I think you will like it here. Anything you have to do to get fresh eggs is well worth it.
