Hi,
Just joined a couple days ago and got lost on the way to New Members intro. LOL Got sidetracked by all the wonderful chicken pics. I am Bluemoon, or Bluechick66 in here. We, my husband and I started raising chickens in January 2013, we were going to raise about eight, I was told to get a few more than I plan on raising in case of death or Roo's. We live in the city so we were a bit leary about the ordinances here. Had to get rid of 2 our silkie roo babies and 4 easter egger roo babies when they started crowing and I cried for days, darn near broke my heart, well it did break my heart. We lost one silkie as a baby, not sure why and one americauna hen due to, not sure why either, she may have swallowed a nail or staple from the coop construction. Since then I have a terrible addiction, we are now up to 17 hens and on accident silkie roo, and 2 pigeons. But, I am keeping the roo this time unless it gets out of control but he is quite docile. Anyway, we love BYC, we come here for everything. We love it!!
