Hello, I was lurking for a few month and thought it's time to introduce myself.

We live on one acre north of Portland. I got my first four chickens about four years ago. Currently we have 8 chickens and 10 ducks, mostly Anconas. I am dreaming of adding a couple of Oberhasli milk goats. In spring I will start raising a batch of meaties, this will be a first for me.

Our goal is to grow and raise as much of our own food as possible. I already learned a lot on BYC, from fermented feed to coop building and much more.

Thanks for all the advise and help given here.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

You have come to the right place for all the fun and learning!!

Make yourself at home here and if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Welcome to our flock!

I'm glad you joined us.

Sounds like you have a nice flock! I've always wanted to raise ducks (and goats, too!), but don't have the space or facilities.

Good luck with all your animals!

Thank you all for the friendly welcome.

My wish for ducks and goats (and more chickens) was the main reason we moved last year to this property. We lived on half an acre but were only allowed four chickens. No rooster, no ducks and no goats.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join to our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining.) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Welcome - glad you can expand your flock and add goats as well. Most folks consider chickens a 'gateway drug,' that leads to other farm animals.
