Well, thanks for a warm welcome!
The flock, at the moment, consists of 6 ex bat hybrids, 3 lavender pekins, 1 aracuana, 1 light Sussex, a Columbian wyandotte and 2 God only knows!
Oh, and Holly. Holly is,as far as we can tell, a black Australorp. He started life as she, and was originally called princess Holly. We even had an egg from her(him) but then she became a he at about 6 months old. A local expert tells me its rare but not impossible. Anyway, he (formerly she) is a dad now. In a couple of weeks well retrieve the aracuana and chick from the barn and try to get them settled into the flock but for now we'll leave mum to do her own thing. There's no news on the other eggs found. I'll give it a week before I give up on them. One cracked yesterday but it was bad, no chick inside. I am doubtful of the viability of the rest.
