Hi! Iv'e been a member for a few days so I guess I should introduce myself. I am a housewife, a student and chicken hobbiest. I started keeping chickens about 24 years ago. I have also always kept a pair of turkeys or two during the past twenty years. I live on 2.5 acres with my extended family - we all have our own houses or apartments scattered around the property. Over the years I have kept just about every kind of farm animal except for horses/donkeys. I have a pair of Tufted Roman Geese which I find fascinating. (They are so weird) I keep an orchard, hatch eggs in the spring, put on a Halloween display that so big & fun that people around town start begging me to do it again every Fall. (Sometimes I don't want to do it - so much work and it's taken on a life of it's own) Someday I want to keep bees.

My flock right now is an assortment of layers & ornamentals in the big hen house, Jersey Buff & a Chocolate turkey, Mille Fleur Cochin Bantams and 1st generation offspring from cross of the Milles with Mottled. Some D'Uccle's that were supposed to be cochins.
