Just wanted join the group and put in a brief intro. Been around chickens for years with helping our neighbor with them and had an opportunity to adopt a small flock and get a jumpstart. Great opportunity for the kids to learn some things along the way too.
Currently have 5 hens: 2 RIR’s (laying) and are a little over a year old; 2 Ameracaunas, 1 Salmon Favorelle that are about 12 weeks old.
favorite aspects of raising chickens are the eggs, teaching children various responsibilities, building and maintaining “the coop” and simply enjoying the birds.
thanks in advance for the opportunity to learn and hopefully share.
