I checked the webcam out and it's working great. Very nice. I'm not sure what breed your unknown bird is, but your three "Araucanas" are actually Easter Eggers, not Araucanas. EEs are often sold by hatcheries and feed stores under the labels Araucana and Ameraucana (commonly misspelled Americana or Americauna), when they are in fact Easter Eggers. True Araucanas and Ameraucanas lay only blue eggs and will breed true. EEs are hybrids produced by crossing blue egg laying Araucanas or Ameraucanas with other breeds to produce offspring that lay eggs in different colors (olive, green, beige, and even pale pink or gold). The good news for you is that EEs will typically outlay their blue egg laying parents. If you want to know more about the differences between Araucanas, Ameraucanas, and EEs, there is a good article on it at http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2011/09/ameraucana-easter-egger-or-araucana.html Good luck with your flock.
thanks for the info, I actually like the Easter Eggers name anyway...I don't have to remember how to spell it and it probably sounds more interesting to kids.
I will make a post in the forum to identify Ms Unknown...at least I hope they're all Misses... I'm pretty much a chicken outlaw since they're not allowed here so any early morning cock a doodle doos will have to be halted immediately. The feed store will take back any...well I'm not even going to say the word
I'm glad you enjoyed the webcam, it's not too exciting to watch but it is neat to bring up on my phone and show people the chickens when I am out and about. It's up again today if anyone wants to have a look http://www.ustream.tv/channel/test-chicken-coop-test
