I am new to the forum and new to chicken rearing. This was DH's idea, but I have found myself hooked. I was wondering if there are others from SC on the boards and if you could tell me a good resource for small livestock auctions in the midlands area? Thanks

LMBO! I got Ginger Chic hooked just as your Hubby did. I lived in Charleston for about 5 yrs. You might try local flea mkts. or I had my best luck on craigslist.org. Look under Farm & Garden. You might want to start with a couple of 6 mo + hens to start with. We have had SOOOOOOOO much family fun just watching these chuckleheads go about their daily lives.

I know that there is a big swap meet every weekend in Lexington, SC.
