Greetings from southern Iowa

New member, but long time chicken owner. We currently have 26 standards ... RIR, white leghorns, buff orps and auracaunas. The old chicken house is getting an upgrade as weather permits and we are planning a 6x6 chicken house modeled after the American gothic house. We have chicks on order for spring and will be incubating some rare breeds. Our goal is to market enough eggs, hens, meat birds to afford a pair of Ayam Cemani. My wife is a chicken lover, but said no when I wanted to bring a small rhode island red, that was being picked on, into our bedroom to sleep. Go figure.

Hello and Welcome to BYC! Good luck with all your projects. Maybe if you start with chickens in the living room you can get them into the other rooms in the house later on...
