After months of lurking, I decided to jump in and join the BYC group. Maybe now I can contribute to the discussion instead of sucking up everybody's wisdom

We live on a modest acre in Clermont County, Ohio, which is a few miles east of Cincinnati. Our area is best described subrural. Technically we're in the burbs, but with large stretches of greenspace. We share the homestead with a flock of 6 Tractor Supply yard birds (5 red comet knock offs and one large golden roo who was supposed to be a hen, hence his name is Chicken Jane).
I'm not new to raising chickens, having had them when we lived in Kansas for 2 years. I am new, however, to the issues of raising backyard chickens in the burbs; we've encountered some neighborly resistance which I will detail in a post in the appropriate forum category.
Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving, all!
