That sure is a lot of cockerels…how many chicks did you start out with total? Were they straight run or was it just a gender mix-up?

Intentional. I wanted to raise dual purpose birds and am testing which breeds to raise. i started with 15 - last one on day 3.

New to raising chickens. Starting with Easter Eggers, Marans, and Buckeyes. Planning on 30 this year. Started with 15 roosters. Lost one rooster in the first week, but no further casualties. They are now 7 weeks and moved them out of the brooder into their pen and roost house. The females will be arriving in about a month. I've been doing a lot of "searching" on this site and it's been very helpful.
