Hello all!
My name is Robert and my family and I moved to SW Washington late 2011. After 2 years of looking at the pros and cons about raising chickens and homesteading, we decided there were more pros than the cons. We have 6 Barred Rock, 6 Americauna, and 1 Black Sex Link (my oldest daughter picked her). We adopted them for their potential eggs, but we fell in love with them as soon as we brought them home as chicks.....so even if they don't lay we love having them around. My three kids love reading books to them and the hens love their company. Anyway, it seems that every time I google a question about hens, this website is usually the first one that pops up. I have read many a forums and enjoyed reading all the questions and responses. So, I decided to join as a member to this very helpful and friendly site and hope to one day, as I learn from my own experiences, to also help answer some questions along the way. I hope all is well on y'alls side of the roost.
