Crowing
Hello everyone! Newbie intro here!
I moved off grid to TN a year ago. I started with 3 older adult hens, just wanting to be sure I could keep them alive. I added two young EE mixes in the spring but lost one to a predator. I turned the coop into a fort just in time for my neighbor to suddenly give me 3 newborn chicks. Chicken math hit me at an auction so my current coop has 3 Black Breasted Red Phoenix (1 cockerel, 2 pullets), 1 adult hen (unknown breed), and 3 Black Copper Marans (unknown sex).
I never would have known chickens have such personalities. They make me laugh every day.
I'm a former middle school teacher. I am married, have two young adult sons and 3 dogs.
