Hello, I just joined this awesome group. I live about an 2 hours from abiline. I gave my 7 yr old daughter a chicken coop for her birthday, but now my husband and I take care of them more than she does. We built our coop in December of 2014, and have been adding chickens to it since.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. You have a beautiful flock. Thanks for posting the pics. :o) My wife and I were both raised raised in the great state of Texas, and my Uncle used to coach the High School football team in Anson (not far from Abelene) many years ago. Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. Our children and granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loved our chickens and made lap pets of the calmer and more gentle breeds.
