I would just like to check-in and say hello to everyone. I've been lurking around this site for about a year now and decided it was time to join. This is going to be my 2nd summer with chickens up here in Northern Michigan so I'm still kind of new at this although I've learned alot so far.
Last year I started out with 16 bantie chicks from TSC. 13 of them turned out to be roosters and I could only give 2 away so this winter was a crash course in Roosters. Although I do have 3 of the baddest little hens around - they can definitely hold their own.
This spring I picked up 9 "auracanas" from TSC, 5 of which turned out to be Australorps and the other 4 are EEs. I got 4 more banties - 2 OEGs and 2 d'Uccles. I picked out 2 black chicks out of the New Hamp bin and have no idea what they are. Also, I ordered 23 Dark Cornish chics and 12 Silver Spangled Hamburg pullets from McMurry. Needless to say, I've got alot of chickens!
This site and all the great advice has helped me greatly and I wanted to join-up so I could contribute and give back to the site that have given me so much.
Thanks
HC
