Hello and good day!
As most people posting here, I'm new
!
My girlfriend has been wanting a chicken for quite some time since she grew quite fond of the pet-chicken of one of her friends.
So after long consideration and _A LOT_ of research she decided to get one.
Yes, I know, some people here are not on board with the whole 'chicken as a pet'-idea, I've been lurking around long enough here, haha.
Anyways, she checked out a lot of different races and finally decided on getting a Wyandotte.
We found a local coop who had Wyandottes and we picked out a Gold-laced Wyandotte bantam chick
.
And yes, we know chicked are best kept in pairs or more.
But since we're aiming for a tame pet chicken (kept in house and big backyard) we decided to get only one chick.
And believe me, she's showered in attention, always running around the table or sitting on our lap or shoulder.
Well, long story short, meet our Saphira (GF named her after the dragon in Eragon)

She's about 3 weeks old in that picture (taken 4 days ago).
We started housebreaking her two days ago (clicker + treats), and she's slowly getting the hang of it.
She listens to her name and is starting to come running to you when you call her by her name.
So yeah, that's it. Hi
