So how did I get in to this?
Once upon a time my mother raised chickens as part of her classroom lesson on life cycles.
It was fun, watching cute baby chicks, the absolute wonder of the kids who best knew chicken in nugget form. And before they became teens returned back to the gentleman who gave her the eggs. She did a few rounds of chickens some ducks and enriched a number of children's lives.
I thought it would be fun to hatch chickens again now that I have my own kids.
Husband had a coworker with chickens....and quail. Unfortunately? Or fortunately miscommunication got me 14 Quail eggs. (No roos for her chickens....but the quail do!)
So yeah that is the back story.
(2) How many Quail do you have right now?
I am the guardian of 6 tiny fluffy babies.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Coturnix
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
So far? Getting them to hatch has been a joy....and now I want some of my own.......
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
SCA aka a hobby with hobbies. Painting, paint making, sewing and historical research.

Stay at home Mom, I have two kids who keep me busy. 3 cats who think this new hobby is amazing! And a husband who is slightly less enthusiastic but willing to put up with another adventure.
(7) Google. Trying to figure out what I am doing with quail. This site kept coming up again and again figured if I was going to keep raising the wee dinos I best have others to consult with.
