Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

I too would add some more hens to the flock. Who doesn't like more chickens?!

So I read the article the new hens are separated from the old ones the new ones are under 2 years old but pretty big the younger one was attacking the older ones. So is that a problem and I'm looking into getting some barred rocks should they have their own cages they have been exposed to rhode island reds but the young hen has never seen barred rocks to my knowledge

I've had some problems in the past with aggressiveness from RIRs, even in flocks where they grew up together (it's the reason I don't have RIRs in my flock anymore). If you can't get the aggression under control, you can always get some pinless peepers. They prevent the hen from seeing directly in front of them to peck at other hens, but allows the hen to eat and drink using their peripheral vision. If you're not familiar with them, you can see them at https://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/pinless_peepers.html.
