Hello and thanks for this amazing website! We are a family of 3 humans, 1 dog, 1 bunny, 5 ducks, and one chicken (with extended family living on the adjacent farm that we work on). We live in a 400 square foot THOW perched on 25 acres of beautiful Vermont land.
The farm that we live on keeps dairy goats, chickens, and ducks, but we never realized the beautiful wonders that ducks are until a little hatchling Indian Runner drake called Moe came to live with us.
Moe was a sick little guy, so lived with us in our tiny house for about a year (not sick that whole time, but we weren't prepared to fall in love with him so completely). After a year, we decided to get him some duck-family, and acquired 2 runner duck hatchlings. When appropriate, they were all moved outside and became, and continue to be an absolute treasure!
Next, I rescued a very sick and bullied hen from the farm, and she is now in top shape and just another little love in our family.
Next again, we brought over 2 pekins who were also not thriving on the farm. These girls are recently entered into our family because they have extreme difficulty getting around. This is due to many things, but now they are living their absolute best life with our new little flock.
I have read so many entries in this forum that have reassured me in the past couple of years, and I have finally had the chance to sign on.
I look forward to being a part of this group!
