Hello! My boyfriend and I have had chickens for about two years. He grew up on a farm and his parents have lots of chickens. I used to have a real fear of chickens until I visited their farm and tasted farm fresh eggs. From that moment on I was sold and really wanted chickens! His Mom was kind enough to give us our first hens:

They're Hera, Hestia, and Demeter (part araucana part rhode island red). I named them after Hades sister's as a nod to my former fear!
Our flock has grown to 13 hens (2 rhode island reds, 1 barred rock, 1 araucana, the 3 "mudbloods" as we call them, 1 partridge plymouth, 1 jersey giant) currently with the newest 4 members hatching a week ago today (hatched from our original three girls eggs)!

We also have four 15 day old ducks (2 runner ducks, 1 mallard, and a swedish).

(one of the babies)
One day we hope to have a big piece of property so I can expand my chicken flock and add some llamas, pigs, and cows. For now we're very happy on our urban farm.
